It’s no coincidence that in Dubai’s real estate market, proximity to the beach is one of the key factors that significantly influences property value, prestige, and investment appeal.
Public beaches in Dubai stretch for 21 kilometers — just under one-third of the emirate’s entire coastline. Most are located along the historic part of the city and on artificial islands, some of which were built specifically to increase the number of beachfront areas. According to the ruler of the emirate, Sheikh Mohammed, Dubai’s beach length is expected to quadruple to 105 kilometers by 2040.
To help you discover the city’s coastal luxury and the variety of seaside activities, here’s a guide to the 5 most popular public beaches in the emirate.

Kite Beach
Kite Beach is easily recognized by the dozens of kites soaring in the sky — it’s a mecca for kite surfers from all over the world. The wind, waves, and well-developed infrastructure make it one of the most popular public beaches for active leisure.
The sand is white and clean, with a comfortable sea entry that doesn’t require special footwear. The beach is always lively, but despite its popularity, it’s spacious — stretching for around 2 kilometers.

Certain rules must be followed: alcohol consumption, smoking (including shisha), and nude sunbathing are prohibited. You also cannot leave the beach area wearing a swimsuit. Exceptions include certain private beach clubs like Barasti (east of JBR Beach), where alcohol is served. Be aware of “ladies-only days,” when men are strictly not allowed to enter some beaches.
